Our client is an innovative, fast-growing biotechnology company based in Vienna, a spin-off from a renowned technical university. With a groundbreaking technology platform for oral and targeted drug delivery, the company addresses key challenges in pharmaceutical development.
A key position is now available during a crucial scaling phase.
Your mission
As Senior Business Development Lead, you will play a central role in the further growth of the company. You will act as a link between science, management, and external partners, actively promoting the commercial positioning of a highly innovative technology.
This role is aimed at individuals who think strategically, implement operations, and want to position themselves as entrepreneurial sparring partners in the long term.
Your responsibility
- Strategic development and maintenance of international customer and partner relationships
- Identification, evaluation, and prioritization of new business opportunities
- Close collaboration with management, scientific teams, and external stakeholders
- Preparation and coordination of commercial and legal documents (NDAs, MTAs, offers)
- Development of customized pricing models, quotation and follow-up structures
- Support with contract negotiations, term sheets, and deal structures
- Participation in in-licensing and out-licensing evaluations (scientific, regulatory, commercial)
- Preparation of market, competition, and partnership analyses
- Development of marketing, pitch, and conference materials
- Collaboration on financial projections and project-based revenue planning
- Preparation of documents for board, partner, and shareholder meetings
- Ensuring smooth communication between scientific, operational, and commercial units
- Hands-on support for operational issues where impact matters
Your profile
- Completed degree (MSc or PhD) in biotechnology, pharmacy, or life sciences
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or project management
- Strong scientific understanding in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical field
- Experience in creating commercial and customer-oriented documents
- Confident use of CRM and project management tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset, high level of personal responsibility, and strong implementation skills
- Hands-on approach and enthusiasm for design
- Very good knowledge of German and English
- Willingness to travel internationally (~30%)
Advantageous
- Experience in drug delivery, formulation, or lipids
- Existing network in biotech/pharmaceuticals
- Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, or go-to-market strategies
- Basic understanding of regulatory development processes
