Our client is an established Saudi real estate developer and general contractor with a strong track record in large-scale high-rise, hospitality, mixed-use, and commercial projects.
The company is currently launching a major new construction project in Mecca (Makkah) and is seeking an experienced, internationally-minded executive to lead this large-scale construction project in Saudi Arabia, who will assume overall responsibility for the successful completion of this strategically important flagship project.

Your Responsibilities
As the manager of this major construction project, you will have overall responsibility for construction and project management—from mobilization and procurement through implementation to commissioning and final handover.
This position combines operational leadership in the construction industry with strategic and organizational responsibilities. You will set clear priorities, drive excellent project execution, strengthen project management, and build a high-performing, interdisciplinary organization.
They report directly to the Executive Board and the Chairman and have correspondingly broad decision-making and policy-setting authority.
- Assuming overall responsibility at the executive level for the successful completion of major construction projects in Mecca
- Management of the project, from mobilization, planning, engineering, and procurement through construction and commissioning to final handover
- Ensuring implementation in accordance with approved cost, schedule, quality, HSE, and contractual requirements
- Management and further development of an interdisciplinary organization with approximately 10 direct reports, as well as overall responsibility for the project
- Establishing clear lines of responsibility, performance standards, and a strong, results-oriented corporate culture
- Responsibility for project budgets, cash flow, procurement, contracts, financial performance, and significant project risks
- Leadership and coordination of the Project Management, Engineering, MEP, Planning, and HSE departments, as well as other supporting corporate functions
- Advancing the professionalization of project structures, processes, reporting systems, project controls, and decision-making processes
- Managing relationships with government agencies, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders
- Representing the company at the senior management level and providing regular reports to the board and the chairman
- Take regular business trips to Switzerland as needed
Your profile
We are looking for an experienced leader in the construction industry with extensive experience in general contracting and project management
- A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or a comparable technical field
- Extensive experience at the senior level in the construction industry and in the implementation of large-scale construction projects
- At least 7–10 years of professional experience in the construction industry in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, or Switzerland), as well as a total of at least 15 years of relevant experience at the senior level
- Proven experience in the successful implementation of complex, large-scale construction projects
- Extensive experience as a general contractor with end-to-end responsibility for project execution
- Proven leadership experience in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong business acumen, particularly in the areas of cost control, procurement, contract management, and project performance
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills, as well as strong decision-making, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Business-level or fluent English skills are required
- Knowledge of Arabic is a great advantage
- International or GCC experience in the construction industry is highly desirable
- Willingness to work full-time at the project site in Makkah five days a week

Due to the special legal provisions governing the Holy City of Makkah, access to the workplace is restricted exclusively to Muslims. Belonging to the Muslim faith is therefore a mandatory requirement for this position.
